The Lone Pine and the Australian Memorial, Gallipoli
This drawing is a view looking from the Turkish Museum at Kabatepe across the rugged ridges and gullies above ANZAC cove. The lack of rain and availability of water make the task of the caretakers of the cemeteries very difficult and they are stark and arid compared to those in Europe.
………..But they are no less moving.
