Langemark German Cemetery, Belgium
These sculptured soldiers stand mute over the remains of thousands of German Soldiers in multiple burials. The figures show subtle differences in the way they pay their respects to their comrades.
I felt the need to add some ‘ghost’ images.
The remains of soldiers from both sides are being found all the time on farms during ploughing and during earthworks for new developments. I attended a very moving service during which the remains of eighteen German soldiers were interred in a mausoleum under the flowers.
